Upstairs, 2019

Red velvet rope hangs across the bottom of a darkened staircase. Words in bright white light are projected onto the staircase, encouraging visitors to bypass the rope and ascend to the second floor. At the top of the stairs they encounter nothing notable but a storage area, and a stanchion sign holding a print that reads “Now they have to believe us.”
